This 1880 row house, acquired by Aaron Sutherland and Nicole Hilvert in 2024, originally functioned as a duplex, likely serving railroad workers along Saratoga Street. Over time, alterations removed its bay windows and primary entrances, while vinyl siding concealed the historic façade.

Renovation began in March 2025, revealing a deteriorated stone foundation, rotted joists, and walls set directly on grade. Although the Kentucky Heritage Council determined the property no longer contributed to the East Newport Historic District and denied historic tax credits, the owners undertook a full restoration. The original façade and window openings have been reinstated, while a rear addition provides two bedrooms and baths. Completion is anticipated in December 2025.
